USPS operates Monday through Saturday. However, not all local Post Offices are open six days a week.

Post Offices are closed on federal holidays. Post Office holidays do not allow for mail deliveries.

For pay and leave purposes: If the holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is treated as the holiday for most postal employees. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is treated as the holiday for most USPS employees.
